As the acknowledgements in the book indicate, the credit for all of the ideas in the book go to Dr. Meredith G. Kline. If you don't know much about this brilliant scholar, you can get an idea of the magnitude of his contributions to Reformed theology here and here, not to mention many other places.

I finished the book back in 2002, but while I was writing it, I wrote to Meredith, asking a few theological questions for the book. Here are a few exceprts from his letter to me:

What is the Tale of Two Adams?

I finished writing this book in January of 2002. At that time, it was a direct response to Norman Shepherd's book The Call of Grace: How the Covenant Illuminates Salvation and Evangelism. If you don't know who Norman Shepherd is, don't worry. You're not alone. After having some folks read the manuscript, I decided to move the critique of Shepherd's book to footnotes, leaving the main body of the text as a positive presentation of the relationship between covenant theology and justification. So if you do know who Norman Shepherd is, you can still get the critique in the footnotes.

The inspiration for this book came from my former professor and friend, Dr. Meredith G. Kline. Thanks to his scholarship, I came to see the Bible as one seamless story - the Tale of Two Adams - from Genesis to Revelation. I am excited that it is finally in print. I hope you enjoy this tale as much as I do!
